Who Should Consider iCloud Storage
As our subscribers begin to migrate to OS X Lion for their Mac and iOS 5 for their iPhone and iPad, they are becoming more aware of iCloud storage. We believe that Apple is taking its first step toward having users feel more secure about where their digital assets are, whether they be Word documents, spreadsheets, images, movies, calendars and more. By saving in "the cloud", files are remotely saved and backed up. Whether you have your iPhone, iPad or Mac with you, your documents will be accessible.
We are in a transitional period regarding "cloud" storage. However, we believe that over the next few years users will become more comfortable with letting go of their control over the location of their data. We suggest that you can start experimenting with iCloud storage using one Mac App so that you can build a confidence level with the technology. Features will become more robust over time as third party software developers learn how to take advantage of cloud storage within their applications.
Users should know that before they convert an existing MobileMe account to the new iCloud account, several features of MobileMe will be eliminated, including iWeb publishing, Gallery, iDisk, and OS X syncing of Dashboard widgets, keychains, Dock items and System Preferences.
