On March 7th, Apple announced the third-generation iPad. It features the retina-display, which has more pixels per square inch than the average human eye can distinguish at a distance of approximately 12 inches. The new iPad displays 2,048 by 1,536 pixels, 4 times the resolution of the iPad 2 and 44% more color saturation. The higher-resolution display will not only make text and pictures sharper, it will also make the iPad the only tablet to support 1080p high-definition video at its full resolution (1,920 by 1,080). The new iPad features the A5X processor with quad-core graphics to provide the same smoothness and fluidity iPad users have come to expect, while processing 4 times the image data. Battery life has been maintained at up to 10 hours. Other features include a 5-megapixel iSight camera for images and 1080p HD video, up to 4G LTE cellular network speeds, personal hotspot capability, iCloud storage and dictation.
